Velma J. Ullman "Loving wife, mother and grandmother" Allegany, NY-- Velma J. Ullman of 2467 Ten Mile Rd. died Tuesday (October 28, 2003) in The Pines Health Care Center, Olean after a long illness. Born January 30, 1923 in Allegany, NY she was the daughter of Clarence and Maud Thayer Miller. On October 13, 1940 in Allegany, NY she married Oliver C. Ullman who survives. Mrs. Ullman was a lifelong resident of the Allegany area and had been employed in the housekeeping department of St. Bonaventure University prior to her retirement in 1979. At that time she and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping in their Winnebago. She enjoyed doing ceramics and other crafts, was a Dodgers baseball fan and also enjoyed listening to country music. Surviving besides her husband are 4 sons Merle (Marlene) Ullman of Allegany, Roy (Nan) Ullman of Great Valley, NY, Henry (Marie) Ullman of Allegany and Mark (Laura) Ullman of Allegany; 1 daughter Ella M. Frank of Killbuck, NY; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 1 sister Emma Riordan and 4 brothers Clair Miller, Ralph Miller and twin brothers Clarence Miller, Jr. and infant Clyde Miller. Friends will be received today from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Thursday (October 30, 2003) at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department or to the American Diabetes Association 315 Alberta Drive Amherst, NY 14226.
