Obituary of Linda L. Cassellari

Linda Lee Cassellari Arlington, VA Linda Lee Cassellari, of 1881 N. 16th St. (22209), passed away Saturday (April 2, 2022) after a lengthy illness. Born August 14, 1948 in Watertown, she was one of 8 children born to Robert J. and Doris A. Stephan Wenzel, Sr. Linda was a 1966 graduate of Allegany Central School and worked herself through college while building her career. She worked as a civilian employee of the US Government, principally as a personnel development counselor. Her long and successful career took her to Terrance, CA, Las Vegas, NV and to Germany where she met and married her husband, Robert Cassellari. She finished her career in Washington, DC at the Pentagon. After retirement from the US Government, she worked as a private consultant. She loved travelling and was able to see much of the world. She also enjoyed summering in the French Riviera. She leaves behind her loving husband Robert; 1 brother Robert (Donna) Wenzel, Jr.; 3 sisters Anita (Joe) Wesley of Allegany, Patricia (Lewis) Dickens of Papillion, NE and Judith Burns of Palm City, FL; a brother-in-law Stan Slevinski of South Bend, IN; a sister-in-law Jeanine (William Cornell) Cassellari of Washington, D.C., and many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 1 brother Carl Wenzel who died in Vietnam in 1965; and 2 sisters Diana Rzepka on November 6, 2019 and Sara Slevinski on April 30, 2020. Friends will be received on Monday (April 11, 2022) from 10am until noon at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will begin at noon in the funeral home. Rev. James Vacco, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
