Rose Marie Lafrenz Olean, NY- Rose Marie Lafrenz, 84, of Olean passed away peacefully Tuesday (January 18, 2022) at the Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Born July 30, 1937 she was the daughter of Cecil and Jean Oakley Knapp. After completing high school, she enlisted in the US Air Force in 1955 and served until 1957. She then began employment for AVX until her health no longer allowed her to work. She had been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Olean since 1974. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by her 3 children Carolynne Lafrenz, Heather Lafrenz and James Lafrenz; 3 nieces Catherine (Leland Winchell) Talbott, Rachel (Steve Frungillo) Crum and Tracy Hoy; a brother Albert Knapp and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Bobbianne Lafrenz in 1975, and 2 sisters. Services will be held privately at the Casey, Halwig, and Hartle Funeral Home, Olean. Burial will be in Mount Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville. Memorials if desired may be made to the Wounded Warriors, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015.
