Allegany, NY Margaret M. Margeson of Allegany, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday (August 4, 2021) at her home.
Born March 20, 1950 in Olean, she was the daughter of Guy E. and Virginia Bell Price. She was married to Carl S. Margeson who predeceased her January 28, 2017.
Margaret was a 1968 graduate of Allegany Central School and later received her beautician schooling from the Continental School of Beauty in Olean.
She was a hairdresser for many years and first worked for Regis Hair Salon in the Olean Center Mall. She then worked for other beauty shops in the area until she established her own salon at her home in Allegany. She retired around 2015 when her husband needed more full-time care during his illness.
Margaret was a devoted member of Church of Christ in Bradford, PA. She was most content when she was working from her home and actively providing for her two children. Cooking was a passion of hers, and she enjoyed crocheting and cross stitching, often creating designs and making items to give away. She loved having her “puppy” Squeaker by her side as a companion.
She is survived by 2 children Guy (Alysia) Mitchell of Langdon, KS and Kimberly (Brandon) Hansen of Cunningham, KS; 6 grandchildren Christopher, Taner, Annabelle, Ashley, Sarah and Elizabeth; 3 great grandchildren Brooklynn, Emma, and Lavinia; 5 brothers, twins Gerald Price of Allegany and Harold (Rebecca) Price of Olean, Ronald Price of Olean, Ricky (Patricia) Price of Duke Center, PA and Terry (Ann) Price and 4 nephews and 1 niece.
In addition to her husband Carl, she was predeceased by an infant brother Guy Price, Jr., her parents, and a sister-in-law Linda Price.
Friends will be received on Sunday (August 8, 2021) from 2-5pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will begin at 5pm in the funeral home, officiated by Margaret’s brother Rick Price, pastor of Church of Christ in Bradford, PA. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
