ROBERT E. BLACK
OLEAN – Robert E. Black of Reed Street died Sunday May 30, 2004 at his residence. Born in Oil City,PA on December 24, 1920 he was a son of Ralph and Alva Black. He married Dora Swartz who predeceased him.
Mr. Black served in the United States Army during WWII. He retired after many years of employment as a machinist. He was a lifetime member of the Bradford, PA American Legion. Mr. Black enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by a sister Edith Rummell of Olean; a daughter Gloria Swabb of Florida and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Lloyd Black.
There will be no public visitations. A memorial service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean.
