James 'Heyward' Hall Olean, NY James 'Heyward' Hall, of 528 Fountain St. passed away Saturday (May 8, 2021). Also known as "Boo" or "PaPa Boo" to his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, he lived a full and satisfying 88 years until his body was just ready to rest. He was born on February 20, 1933 in Lexington County, South Carolina to Grover Matthew and Anna Alma Hall. He was married to Joyce "Jobie" Irene Hall who passed away 5 years prior. He worked most of his life in a textile mill in South Carolina and always enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and gardening. Even in his advanced years he yearned to be out in the open air. He was loved and respected, and he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren of all ages. Heyward moved up from South Carolina to New York in 2017 to live with his grandson Timothy Hall and Tim's wife and family. 'Heyward' ("PapaBoo") had grandchildren by his son Glenn. They are Timothy Hall, Tyler Hall and Lisa Hall. Glenn sadly passed away 8 months prior to him. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren Tim Hall, Lisa Hall, Tyler Hall and Kathy Jones; 9 great grandchildren Caroline, Ethan, Nathan, Logan, Olivia, Makayla, Troy, Autumn and Colt; 1 great-great granddaughter Raelyn; 3 siblings Louise Kaminer, Mary Anne Taylor and Clarence Hall and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Joyce and his son Glenn, he was predeceased by a brother Edward Hall. No services are currently being planned. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
