JANICE P. VENABLE
OLEAN - Janice P. Venable of South 19th Street died Tuesday June 22, 2004 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Charleston, WV on November 11, 1936 she was a daughter of J. R. "Bob" and Irene Neal Pierson. She was a graduate of St. Albans High School in St. Albans, WV and attended the Alderson - Broaddus College in Phillipi, WV.
In 1955 she married William Butcher. In 1965 she married Victor M. Guthrie who predeceased her in 1970. In 1971 she married Paul W. Venable who died in 1994.
She is survived by three sons, Bill Butcher of Harrisonburg, VA, Robert Guthrie of Allegany, NY and Ron (Susan) Guthrie of Chicago, IL; five step-children, James (Kenlynnne) Venable of Winter Springs, FL, Sue !McKimm of Cleveland, OH, David (Linda) Venable of Newburg, OR, Roger (Anna) Venable of Augusta, GA and Bruce (Linda) Venable of Graham, WA; one brother, Clyde (Bonnie) Pierson of Dallas, TX; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
There will be no public visitations. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the First Baptist Church in Olean on Sunday June 27, 2004 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Dan !McDowell, pastor will officiate. Private graveside services and burial will be conducted on Monday June 28, 2004 in the Allegany Cemetery, Allegany, NY. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Olean, 133 South Union Street, Olean, NY 14760. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean
