Donald J. Bucher OLEAN – Donald J. Bucher, a resident of Eden Heights and formerly of Bucher Hollow, Allegany died Friday July 2, 2004 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Allegany on December 27, 1911 he was a son of Jacob W. and Frances C. Barnick Bucher. Mr. Bucher served as an engineer in the United States Army during WWII. He worked for many years with his family, farming and working oil leases. Mr. Bucher was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. He is survived by two sisters Beatrice Paulman of Belmont, NY and Elizabeth M. "Betty" Wilcox of Westons Mills, NY; a brother John R. (Rosemary) Bucher; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Virginia C. !McCaullife and Mildred G. Bucher; three brothers Harold T. Bucher, James L. Bucher and Albert F. Bucher. Friends will be received today (July 5, 2004) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday (July 6, 2004) beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM will be celebrant. Burial and committal will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to St. Bonaventure Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
