Obituary of Jerry D. McKinnis

Franklinville- Jerry D. McKinnis passed away Wednesday (August 5, 2020) at his residence.
Born on June 10. 1945 in Ignacio, Colorado, he was the son of Harry and Gula Goode McKinnis.
Mr. McKinnis enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1964 to 1970. During his time in the Vietnam War, he was honored with the Bronze Star for his bravery during the war.
He was employed as a mechanic for many years at J&S Auto Sales in Colorado Springs, where he also performed multiple Classic Ford Mustang restorations. After his retirement in 2009, he moved to Franklinville, NY. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, reading westerns, and going to the casino. Most importantly, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving father.
Surviving is one son Matthew (Cindy) McKinnis of Olean, one sister Viola Rex Kimble of Durango, Colorado. Two sister-in-law Norma Jean also of Durango, and Gladys McKinnis of Clifton, Colorado. And several Nieces and Nephews.
He was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters, Frank (Virginia) McKinnis, Bertha (Walter) Fritz, Theodore McKinnis, Ruby McKinnis, John (Gladys) McKinnis, Charles McKinnis, and Robert (Norma) McKinnis.
No services are being scheduled at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
