Obituary of Robert P. Porcello

Robert P. Porcello Olean, NY-- Robert P. Porcello of 224 Brookview Ave. died Thursday (September 2, 2004) in Cuba Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born April 3, 1920 in Olean, NY he was the son of Stephen and Josephine Porcello. On February 8, 1941 at the United Brethren Church in Rixford, PA he married Maxine Burger who survives. Mr. Porcello was a graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Olean all of his life. He began his career in 1940 at Dresser Clark Co. at the machine shop. He worked his way up to the industrial engineering department where he was employed until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olean. He enjoyed gardening and playing euchre. He’ll be remembered for his great sense of humor. Most of all he loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Surviving besides his wife are two sons Robert (Bonnie) Porcello of Olean and Jack (Kathy) Porcello of Allegany; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister Gloria of FL and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers Alexander Porcello, Anthony Porcello and Frederick Porcello and one sister Ann Pascarella. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Saturday from 2 until 5pm. A memorial service will be held Tuesday (September 7, 2004) at 10:00am in the First Baptist Church in Olean. Rev. Dan !McDowell, pastor, will officiate. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the First Baptist Church.
