Paul B. Carter

Allegany, NY       Paul B. Carter, of Allegany, entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday (June 22, 2018) at the Buffalo General Hospital, following a battle with heart disease.

Born July 10, 1939 in Olean he was the son of Frederick B. and Winifred N. Brown Carter.  On January 29, 1963 he married Beverly A. Work who survives.

Paul was a 1957 graduate of Allegany High School and then served in the US Army Reserves until 1962.

He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union and worked for 38 years for Work and Silvis Co., retiring as an estimator and superintendent.  

Paul was a true-blue family man whose life revolved around his family.  He enjoyed his cattle farm, 4-H, auctions, the rodeo and attending fairs. He was a long-time member of the Allegany Baptist Church.

Surviving besides his wife are 5 children Maricriss (Stuart) Dausch of Brooksville, FL, Teresa (Kris) John of Phoenixville PA, Jeffery (Sally) Carter of Allegany, Daniel (Stephanie) Carter of Allegany and Gregory (Rachel) Carter of Olean; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 5 siblings Robert (Thelma) Carter of Wimauma, FL, Sandra (Gerald) Linderman of Hinsdale, Ruth (Dennis) Sorenson of Denver, CO and twins Joann Langren of Rochester and John (Barb) Carter of Toms River, NJ and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by an infant brother Richard Carter.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 1-3 & 6-8pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean.  Visitation will continue on Wednesday (June 27, 2018) from 10am to 11am at the Allegany Baptist Church where services will begin at 11am.  Rev. Jonathan Colby, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
