Obituary of Star T. Gilbert
Star T. Gilbert
Olean, NY Star T. Gilbert, 71, returned to her heavenly home early Monday morning on January 29, 2018 at the Olean General Hospital after a valiant battle with pneumonia. Her devotion to Jesus and her firm belief in God helped sustain her until the very end, giving her and her children the strength to go on.
Momma spoke wisdom into the lives of many people, and will always continue to do so through her legacy laid in place behind her.
Star was born to William & Pearl Waymack, in the autumn of 1946 in Indiana. Star was blessed with a large family, raising 7 children all on her own. She blessed many people's lives, especially the many people who loved her. Star taught her children, and her many "adopted kids" about the love of God, and about the power of prayer. Much could be learned from such a wise, godly woman. A mother completely devoted to her family, she had a genuine love for all people.
Continuing on in her family are: Robert E. Gilbert and Theodosia L. Gilbert, both of Olean, Niki L. Stovall of Bradford, PA and her 2 sons Kevion (13) & Jamarion (2), Annice A. Gilbert of Bradford, PA and her 2 daughters Kei'anna A. Long (13) and Arie'anna K. Long (8), Jimmie L. Gilbert of Olean and his 3 children, and Wanda Tilly of Port Allegany, PA and her 3 sons.
She was predeceased by a son Adam E. Gilbert in January 2016.
The family gracefully welcomes all to celebrate the life of their wonderful mother at a visitation from 10am until noon on Saturday (February 3, 2018) at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Following, it is asked that friends respect the request for the funeral to be private for family and close, invited friends. Deacon Portlow & Wife Dy'vonne Portlow will officiate the service.
A repast dinner will start at 2pm at the family church (Church of God of Prophecy, 919 King Street in Olean.), to which everyone is welcome! The family also accepts any flowers, donations, prayers, memories or condolences for our mother in helping her have a burial fit for a queen. She will be gently laid to rest in Allegany Cemetery.
