John A. Simpson Rushford, NY-- John A. Simpson of 8499 Aggett Rd. died Wednesday (October 13, 2004) in WCA Hospital, Jamestown, NY. Born April 6, 1943 in Olean, NY he was the son of Donald S. and Clara M. Pincoski Simpson. He was married to Evangeline Dolph who predeceased him. On September 4, 2004 at his home in Rushford he married Lynn A. O’Brien who survives. Mr. Simpson was a graduate of Allegany High School and of SUNY Alfred. He was a resident of Rushford most of his life and had been employed as an inspector for E & M Engineers in Springville for over thirty years. He loved horses and he established the Rushford Rodeo and Horseshow Corp. over twenty years ago. He currently served on the Rushford Town Board as well as the Zoning Board. As a staunch Republican, he served as the Republican Committeeman for the town of Rushford. Surviving besides his wife are his mother of Allegany; two daughters Shawna (Kerwin) Dumphrey of Lockport, NY and Jennifer Simpson of Olean; one grandson Sergey Dumphrey; one granddaughter Tioga Simpson; three brothers David Simpson of Olean, Jeffery (Suzanne) Simpson of Allegany and James (Debra) Simpson of Allegany; one sister Elizabeth (Jerry Crisafulli) Simpson of Longmont, CO and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to gather at the family farm on Aggett Rd. in Rushford on Saturday (October 16, 2004) from 12:30 until 1:00pm. A Service of Remembrance will be held there at 1:00pm with Fr. Joseph Dumphrey of St. John’s Church in Lockport, NY to officiate. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund 101 Pro Rodeo Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80919. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean, NY.
