Thomas P. Walsh
Allegany, NY Thomas P. Walsh, 85, of 2936 Five Mile Rd. Lot 43 passed away Wednesday (July 5, 2017) at Olean General Hospital.
Born August 19, 1931 in Olean he was the son of Patrick and Freda Koblinger Walsh. He was married to Emily McCall who predeceased him March 21, 2008.
Mr. Walsh was a graduate of Allegany Central School and later enlisted in the US Army where he served during the Korean War. After his marriage he and his wife moved to Georgia where he worked for the Atlantic Steel Co. until his retirement. After the death of his wife he came back to Allegany that he called home. He then worked for the Cable Company and Conap, Inc.
He was a lifetime member of the Allegany Fire Department and the Allegany American Legion, both for over 60 years. He enjoyed golfing and he loved to read.
Surviving are a daughter Colleen (Phil) Voorhees of Allegany; 2 granddaughters Linsey Reubens of Las Vegas, NV and Jessica Reubens of Demorest, GA; 6 siblings Mary Walsh and Virginia Walsh, both of New York City, Kathleen (Tony) Bartolo of the Pocono's, John (Shirley) Walsh of Allegany, Dorothy Brunner and Margaret Walsh, both of Olean and several nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by his best friends Bill and Shirley Papasergi and a special nephew Steve Rado.
In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his siblings William Walsh, Robert Walsh, Joan Rado and Richard Walsh.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering in remembrance of Mr. Walsh on Saturday (September 30, 2017) from 1-3pm at the Allegany American Legion. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
