Bonita Donnelly Bal
Allegany, NY Bonita Donnelly Bal, of the Five Mile Rd. passed away Wednesday (June 7, 2017) at the Olean General Hospital after a long illness.
Born December 30, 1952 in Olean she was the daughter of John and Agnes Fitzsimmons Donnelly. She was married to Michael Bal who predeceased her December 6, 2001.
Bonita resided in Houston, TX for several years until 1982. She moved to Michigan and in 1997 began working for Walmart until 2006. She moved "back home" where she lived in Allegany and continued employment at Walmart until her retirement in 2013 due to ill health.
She enjoyed raising her children and being a stay at home Mom prior to entering the workforce. She took joy in being a grandmother.
Surviving are 3 children Nicole Donnelly Friend of Middlebury, VT, Josh (Dana) Bal of Gaithersburg, MD and Nick (Jackie) Bal of Rochester Hills, MI; 4 grandchildren Austin Friend, Ashley Friend, Elliott Bal and Logan Bal; her loving stepmother Anna Lee Donnelly of Olean; 2 sisters Sharon (Bill) Papasergi of Allegany and Maureen Mesler of Oregon; 2 brothers John (Tammy) Donnelly of Portville and Patrick Donnelly of Ithaca; 4 stepsisters Donna (Steve) Crowley of Allentown, PA, Jacqueline Mousaw of Beaufort, SC, Julie Mousaw of Ithaca and Frances Mousaw of Lancaster; 3 stepbrothers John Mousaw of South Carolina, Ivan (Janet Glogouski) of Allegany and Donald (Melodie) Mousaw of Long Beach, CA and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother Michael T. Donnelly in 1992.
A memorial service will be held Sunday (June 11, 2017) at 1pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Rev. James Vacco, OFM, will officiate. A memorial visitation will take place following the service from 1:30 to 3pm. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
