Margaret Mary Eaton
Olean, NY Margaret Mary Eaton, 64, of 1951 West Fall Rd. passed away Saturday (February 25, 2017) after a long illness, surrounded by her family and her beloved ReHabilitation Center family.
Born January 30, 1953 in the former St. Francis Hospital in Olean she was the daughter of Dan and Loretta Eaton, Sr.
Margie, as she was affectionately known, had a complete life. She, along with her friends, were the inspiration for their parents to create a learning environment that would fit the needs of the disabled. This adventure created the ReHabilitation Center, which now serves so many people with special needs in our community.
Margie enjoyed many things with the Rehabilitation Center’s recreation program. She enjoyed her routine of coloring pictures for all of those that she loved as well as talking on the phone with her friends. She was very fulfilled with her job at SubCon Industries where getting a paycheck meant a lot to her.
She is survived by her loving siblings and their families Kathryn (Bill) Childs, Dan (Reba) Eaton, Pat (Polly) Eaton and Elaine (Mike) Freeborn; her nieces and nephews Jen Eaton Miller, Jacquie Barber, Valerie Teal, Dan Eaton, Patrick Eaton, Chris Childs, Veronica Holyoke, Melissa Raymond, Anne Hughes, Sarah Finkelstein and Zachary Eaton. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and even a great great nephew.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother Michael Eaton, nieces Michelle Freeborn Miller and Jolie Eaton Hammond and many aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-4pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. Funeral services will be held Monday (February 27, 2017) beginning with a prayer service at 9am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. James Vacco, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
