Obituary of Herbert F. Earle

Allegany- Herbert F. Earle of 3406 Fortune Drive, Allegany, passed away Saturday (December 17, 2016) at the Olean General Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born November 30, 1935 in Olean, he was the son of Sam and Lilly Wolf Earle. On July 19, 1969 in the Transfiguration Church in Olean, he married Theresa A. Washington, who predeceased him on February 17, 2010. Mr. Earle was a 1953 graduate of Olean High School. He enlisted in the United States Army from 1954-1957, serving during the Korean Conflict. He later received his business degree, from Alfred State College in 1959. He was a local area leading furniture dealer for over 50 years in management and sales, retiring from Carpet Town in 1998. Mr. Earle was a former avid golfer and a member of St. Bonaventure University Golf Club and Birch Run Country Club. He was a former driver and volunteer for the VA Transport and volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was also a member of the Allegany 60 Plus Club. Surviving are his loving family and caregivers James Lee of Olean, Judith (Brian) Lee-Suda of Olean; his wonderful neighbors Ray and Joyce Jonak of Allegany; three nieces Marcia Earle Storey of Freehold, NY, Sheila Earle Madden of Corning, Jody Earle Liddick of Corning; one cousin Renee Jason of London, England; and two dear friends Ann Cole and Marlayne Robinson. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother Isadore Earle; and one sister Adele Earle. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig, and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road Today (Tuesday) from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday (December 21, 2016) at 11am. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
