Obituary of Jane T. McCaffery

Jane T. McCaffery Allegany, NY Jane T. McCaffery, formerly of N. 5th St. passed away peacefully Saturday (November 5, 2016) at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Olean where she had been a resident since June 2014. Born June 9, 1917 in Eldred, PA she was the daughter of Matthew and Mary Stephan Lippert. Jane was raised on Lippert Hollow, attended St. Elizabeth's Academy and was a graduate of Westbrook Academy. On December 27, 1945 she married Robert E. McCaffery who predeceased her in 1961. Jane worked at the Kevin Krampf Insurance Agency, retiring at age 65. She then worked for the Allegany Public Library and retired at the age of 85. She was a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program. She enjoyed walking and visits with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed trips with her good friends and her sister. She was well known for her fantastic chocolate chip cookies. Jane is survived by her daughters, Mary Lynn (Robert) Davis of Allegany and Christine (Don) Reese of Springville and her son Mark (Jackie) McCaffery of Farmington; her grandchildren, Robyn (Greg) Straub, Megan Taylor, Jason McCaffery, Jenny (Phil) Cuffare, Emily (Matthew Steinbacher, fiancé) McCaffery and Ryan McCaffery; great grandchildren Grace and Calvin Straub, Cash and Jordan Cuffare and Erin McCaffery as well as her nieces and nephews. Along with her husband she was predeceased by her son Matthew T. McCaffery; her parents; her sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Ernest Yehl and her brother and sister-in-law Stephan and Beatrice Lippert and several dear friends. The family will be present to receive friends Wednesday (November 9, 2016) from 9:30 to 10am at St. Bonaventure Church. A memorial mass will begin at 10am in the church. Rev. James Vacco, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
