I knew Brother David as a friend and colleague largely through our mutual interest in art. He brought many personal and professional gifts to the community at St. Bonaventure. His dedication and perseverance, his enthusiasm and creativity, his humor and patience were coupled with an artist's sensitivity and an historian's perspective. Brother David shared these gifts generously with students, colleagues, friars, and friends making his presence on campus a most salutary one. He will be well remembered and deeply missed. My deepest condolences to his family and fellow friars.
