Allegany, NY Charles G. Deibler of 518 Four Mile Rd. passed away Monday (February 22, 2016) at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Born October 3, 1937 in Olean he was the son of Lionel and Thelma Myrick Deibler. On February 13, 1958 in Olean he married Shirley Fisk who predeceased him May 9, 2000.
Mr. Deibler was a veteran of the US Navy where he served from 1955 to 1959, part of that duty being aboard the USS Newman K. Perry. His career was as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Olean until his retirement. He also enjoyed raising beef cattle.
He took pleasure in going to antique "car cruises", eating pasta as his favorite food, and spending winters in Punta Gorda, FL for many years.
Surviving are 2 sons Martin Deibler of Buffalo and Charles (Tamara) Deibler of Galloway, OH; 1 daughter Cindy (Larry) Prall of Austin, PA; 3 granddaughters; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Linda "Sue" (Bob) Mikolajczyk and Nancy Jurenko, both of Hinsdale; 1 brother Ronald (Mary) Deibler of Hinsdale and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a sister Roberta Barber and 2 brothers-in-law John Barber and Bill Best.
Friends will be received on Friday from 6-8pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Saturday (February 27, 2016) at noon in the funeral home with full military honors being accorded by the Allegany American Legion Ritual Team. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or/and the Hinsdale fire Department.
