Obituary of Theodore D. Potter, Sr.

Theodore D. Potter, Sr. Allegany, NY Theodore D. Potter, Sr. of Smith Hollow Rd. passed away peacefully Wednesday (August 5, 2015) at his home. Born November 27, 1933 in Olean he was the son of Robert and Zeruah Goodrich Potter. On October 9, 1954 in Allegany he married Barbara Brown who survives. Mr. Potter was a 1951 graduate of Allegany Central School and received a degree from Paul Smith College in Paul Smith, NY. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served from 1953 until 1957, part of that time during the Korean War. He was employed in the family business, Potter Lumber Co. in Allegany, for over 70 years. In 2013 he founded EWP Lumber Co. where he served as president until his passing. Surviving besides his wife are 2 children Theodore (Judy) Potter of Allegany and Toni Potter of Fort Myers, FL; 3 grandchildren Jason (Brooke) Potter of Allegany, Stacie (Tony) Bianchi of Ohio and Tim (Amie) Potter of Allegany and 1 great granddaughter Logan Potter. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Robert G. Potter. At Mr. Potter's request, there will be no planned funeral service or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made to the Allegany Rescue and EMS, Inc., PO Box 217, Allegany, NY 14706.
