Obituary of Thomas R. Kelly

Thomas R. Kelly Allegany, NY Thomas R. Kelly of 4278 S. Nine Mile Rd. passed away Monday (July 27, 2015) after a brief stay at The Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Olean. Born October 25, 1945 in Olean he was the son of Kenneth and Barbara Turner Kelly, Sr.. On July 15, 1967 at St. Joseph's Church in Olean he married Darlene M. Cole who predeceased him December 15, 2014. Mr. Kelly worked at Dresser Rand for almost 40 years prior to his retirement. In his earlier years he worked in Olean at the former AC Beverage Co., the Castle Inn Restaurant, Loretto Foods and the Sample Shop, all with the goal of saving enough money to buy his future wife Darlene a wedding ring. He was a member of the Allegany Baptist Church, the Eagle Rod and Gun Club, the Olean Rod and Gun Club and was a past member of the Olean Diver's Club. He loved fishing and was an all around sportsman. He was also an avid ham and CB operator with the call number kmp6426. Surviving are 2 brothers Kenneth Kelly, Jr. of Portville and Jim Kelly of Allegany and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. After a long, hard fight to stay with us, he went to be with his family in Heaven including his wife, his parents, his parents-in-law and a sister-in-law Joanne Kelly. Friends will be received on Thursday (July 30, 2015) from 2-6pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Services will begin at 6pm in the funeral home. Pastor Rich Price, nephew to Mr. Kelly, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
