Obituary of Lawrence L. Chandler

Lawrence L. Chandler "loving father and grandfather" Olean, NY-- Lawrence L. Chandler of 1769 Windfall Rd. died Wednesday (December 1, 2004) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath, NY. Born June 22, 1926 in Olean, NY he was the son of Charles and Sophia Urban Chandler. Mr. Chandler was a graduate of Portville Central School and resided on the Windfall Rd. in Olean nearly all of his life. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during WWII for the infantry regiment in the European Theatre. He had owned and operated the former Liberty Cleaners of Portville. He later worked for Fibercel, Inc. in Portville for twenty years prior to his retirement. He was very religious and attended the Bethel Assembly of God in Olean. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. Surviving are two sons Lawrence W. (Carol) Chandler of Olean and Craig J. (Jodie) Chandler of Portville; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 2 brothers Robert (Sally) Chandler of Olean and Richard (Lucy) Chandler of Vacaville, CA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter and two brothers Charles Chandler and !LeRoy Chandler. Friends will be received on Friday from 6-8pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Saturday (December 4, 2004) at 10:30am in the funeral home. Rev. Robert Sainz, pastor of Bethel Assembly of God, will officiate.
