Obituary of Twila N. Conner

Twila N. Conner Allegany, NY-- Twila N. Conner, 83, of 2027 Four Mile Rd. went to meet her Lord Tuesday (December 7, 2004) while residing at the home of her daughter on the N. Nine Mile Rd. in Allegany following a short but very courageous and gracious battle with cancer. Born January 14, 1921 in West Hickory, PA she was the daughter of Daniel A. and Luella Ernest Neal. On January 29, 1976 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bradford, PA she married Floyd Conner who survives. A 1939 graduate of Sheffield, PA High School, she lived in Warren, PA, moving to Bradford, PA in 1951. She worked for several industries including Corning Glass and also as a waitress in several restaurants in the area including Brook Club, The Willows and Roman Villa. She worked for J.C. Penny Co. from 1969 until her retirement in 1982. Mrs. Conner was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Allegany and belonged to the Ladies Guild of the church. She enjoyed needlework, embroidery and reading. Surviving besides her husband are three daughters Cheryl (Richard) Adams of Allegany, Darlene Lamson of Bradford, PA and Deborah (Thomas) Sherman of Roanoke, VA; one stepson Michael (Hania) Conner of Lighthouse Pt., FL; 5 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; four brothers Kenneth Neal of Finleyville, PA, William Neal of Minerva, OH, Donald Neal of Bradford, PA and Leonard Neal of San Dimas, CA; 3 sisters Shirley Neal of Alexander, VA, Norma (Robert) Moore of Palmyra, VA and Luella Osgood of Limestone and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday (December 18, 2004) at 11:00am in the First Presbyterian Church in Allegany . Rev. Daniel !McKee, pastor, will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to "Project 2000" C/O The First Presbyterian Church 44 N. 3rd St. Allegany, NY 14706. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
