Obituary of Lewis Burlingame

Lewis J. Burlingame W. Henrietta, NY-Lewis J. Burlingame of 46 Egret Dr., formerly of Hinsdale, died Friday (March 6, 2009) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Born February 19, 1931 in Olean, NY he was the son of Clair and Minnie Connor Burlingame. On April 26, 1975 at Christ United Methodist Church in Olean he married Susan D. Crosson who predeceased him August 25, 2005. Mr. Burlingame was a graduate of Hinsdale Central School. He had resided in Hinsdale most of his life and had lived in W. Henrietta since 2004. He was a retired custodian and bus drive for Hinsdale Central School having worked there for over 30 years. He was a member of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church and he will be remembered as one who enjoyed laughing and joking with friends and family. Surviving are 1 son Lance (Marlene) Burlingame of W. Henrietta; 2 grandchildren Brooke Burlingame and Jacob Burlingame; 1 brother George Burlingame of Jonestown, PA; 1 sister Dorothy (Pat) Haines of Tonawanda and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig &amp; Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State St. Olean on Sunday from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (March 9, 2009) at 11:30am in the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Carl Schultz, pastor of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Hinsdale Cemetery in Maplehurst.
