Obituary of Frederick Meyers

Frederick D. Meyers Allegany, NY-- Frederick D. Meyers of Allegany, recently of the Portville Manor, passed away Sunday (February 22, 2009) at the Highland Healthcare Center in Wellsville, after a lengthy illness. Born April 14, 1947 in Salamanca, NY he was the son of James Meyers and Arlene Meyers Atherton. Mr. Meyers was a member of the Local Laborer's Union and his pastime was racing cars and more recently off track betting. He enjoyed watching squirrels and birds in his back yard. Surviving are 3 brothers Mike (Melody) Meyers of Hinsdale, Ken (Patty) Atherton of Belfast and Denny Atherton; several nieces and nephews and a special friend Rosalie Dieteman of Olean. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean on Friday (February 27, 2009) from 12-1:30pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm in the funeral home. Rev. Dick Helms will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
