We were so sorry to hear of the death of your mother and grandmother. I remember when John first introduced us to Fran. We thought he was extremely lucky to have met such a friendly and caring lady. Having Fran in his life brought John such joy over the last few years. We always enjoyed our visits to Olean and the time spent with them when we would go out to dinner etc. Knowing that your mother had many tragedies in her life, I greatly admired her positive outlook. I also admired how your family came together to make sure that your mother always had family with her and to make sure that she had all the care she needed. I once told Fran that I admired how supportive her family is and told her that that was clearly a reflection of her parenting and she seemed very pleased. My family joins me in sending their deepest sympathy. Gay Bowen Hull (John's step-daughter)

Marlene and family, I don't get the local paper, and was also out of town last week, so I didn't get to check the paper on line, and was shocked to see your mom had passed away. I will always remember her smiling and waving in church at my son Liam when he was a baby. She was obviously loved by you all and I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss.

I'll miss you, my "wild Hungarian" Aunt! You remind me of mom in so many ways. You never missed a chance to get together and you always made me smile with your totally down-to-earth humor. I will always treasure spending time with you at Robbie's wedding, sampling at the winery. I'm so glad I got pictures of all the siblings there! You looked beautiful, as always. I'll always love you and I'll miss your smile & the sparkle in your eyes forever.

Mom, I remember your laughter, smile, love, and kindness. I remember you baking peanut butter cookies, sewing my red sweater with white thread, wahsing dishes, cooking, doing laundry and feeding my dog when I was little. I remember Sunday's after Mass going for breakfast,. I remember the joking and stories. I remember how you loved your flowers. I remember the times you were angry with me, and I still want you to know I am truly sorry for anything I did that may have hurt you. I remember you saying, “Thank you” whenever someone did even the smallest task for you. I remember those embarrassing moments when you would speak your mind. I remember the way you would always ask me if I was hungry, or if I wanted a cup of coffee,. I remember I could never leave your house without you giving something to me. I remember the times you collapsed on me, the visits to the emergency room, your hospitalizations, your fear, my sadness. I remember telling you it was cancer, and you say "Its in God's Hands". I remember your strength and enduring faith in God amidst the pain and suffering. I remember you as a caring mother who loved her family, spoiled them, and wanted nothing but the best for them. I remember you loosing your voice and having to write everything you wanted to say. I remember holding your hand and looking into your eyes as you breathed your last breath. Mom you were a feisty one. Outspoken. Independent. Strong. Wildly impractical. Unafraid of the dark. Lover of bright flowers & sweet tomatoes and garlic. Mom I have listened to your favorite song "In the Air Tonite" and thought of you. I remember you would hit repeat so this song would play over & over on your recorder. I hope you enjoyed the bagpipes that played at your funeral. I remebered you loved bagpipes. Sorry it has taken me so long to write this, but it has been so hard to find words to express the love I have for you, I hope this does. Mom, I love you so very much, and just like you asked, I still talk with you like we always did. With all the love my heart can hold, Your Daughter Marlene
