Obituary of Cheryl Peters

Cheryl L. Peters Loving Mom and Grandma Olean- Cheryl L. Peters of 1659 Park Street, Olean, passed away Thursday (January 15, 2009) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born November 26, 1943 in Erie, PA, she was the daughter of Audrey Coit. She was a graduate of Olean High School and had attended Olean Business Institute. Ms. Peters had been employed at St. Bonaventure University for the past 27 years, as well as at Tops Supermarket for the last 12 years, where she had made many friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially traveling to the Outer Banks where she enjoyed vacationing with her son, daughter-in-law and grandsons. Cheryl followed Mens Bonnies Basketball, befriending many of the players and students at St. Bonaventure University. Recently she started following the Lady's Bonnies Basketball team, who considered her a special supporter. Surviving is her son Jeff (Amy) Peters of Chester Virginia; 2 grandchildren Benjamin and Jackson Peters of Chester Virginia; 3 cousins Lou Ann Peters of Fairview, PA, Tommy Peters of Fairview, PA, Richard Coit of Florida; a second cousin Nicole Peters of Erie, PA; one Uncle Herbert Stull of Lewisville, PA; a very dear friend Mary Ellen Barrett of Olean; as well as many other close friends. She was predeceased by 3 aunts Colena Coit, Betty Stull, Mary Ann Peters; 2 Uncles George Coit and "Buzz" Peters. Friends will be received at St. Bonaventure University Chapel on Sunday from 2-5pm. Visitation will continue on Monday (January 19, 2009) at the University Chapel from 10-10:30am, at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will begin. Rev. Dan Reilly, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 3300 Monroe Ave #319, Rochester NY 14618.
