Evelyn R. James
Bradford, PA-Evelyn R. James, a former resident of Olean, died Tuesday (January 27, 2009) in the Bradford Manor in Bradford, PA.
Born August 17, 1930 in Corning, NY she was the daughter of Harry and Myra Weiler White. On March 17, 1985 in Allegany, NY she married Ernest Ray James who predeceased her April 6, 1999.
Mrs. James worked in the restaurant business in Elmira and later moved to Olean where she resided for many years. She moved to Bradford after the death of her husband. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 4 sisters Ada DeWitt, Geraldine Werstler, Alice Newton and Lucille Fuller and 2 brothers Adelmer White and Robert White.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held Friday (January 30, 2009) at 11:00am in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Rev. Dr. Bill Raymond, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church in Bradford, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
