How disappointed I was to be out of town for your mother's funeral. She will be so missed! My mother has lost a dear, dear friend, one of the few people she truly shared her thoughts with. Memories of your mother playing music in your house and at St. Mary's will always be with my family. And the gift of music that she passed on to so many of you is a treasure. We pray for you and for your mom, and send you our love.

To the Gilroy Family- My deepest sympathy. Your Mother was a wonderful person and treasured dearly. The first time I ever met her was when she played the organ at Transfiguration Church for Our wedding in 1987. Later in life she help our PTO at Washington West playing the piano at our childrens concerts. She has an exceptional talent for music. I had the pleasure of talking to her on a regular basic when she would come to Tops Pharmacy to visit Bill at work. She was a delightful person and will be greatly missed in the Olean community. My heartfelt sympathies to all the Gilroy Family. I remember the time I started calling your mother "Mom", way back when I was in grade school. She opened her doors to me and my own family (as if she didn't have her hands full. She taught me how to drive in the mustang you all had at that time (and it was a standard) WHAT A SAINT! :). At your mom's request, she, myself and I my sister Laurie, "did a cake" at my own mothers funeral. She came up to me that day after the funeral and just said "LET"S DO A CAKE"." And we did! She sure knew how to make people laugh. We have lost one of our most precious flowers for surely she did bloom wherever she was planted.

My heart is heavy for all of you, you only have one Mom and regardless of how amazing, how long lived or how well lived her life was, when she is called to leave, her place here is gone from your embrace and I'm very sorry for each one of you. Our family will be forever grateful to Joyce for her kindness when she volunteered to spend hours with our uncle in his last days, giving us a respite. That stayed with us all these years as a reflection of her compassion and her fine character. Our deepest sympathy to her family on their loss.

Joyce, an amazing and lovely lady that I remember from many years ago when I ived in Olean. I was happy to see the picture of the smiling lady in her obituary....that was Joyce. Rest in peace and entertain heaven with your music.
