Olean- William J. Geise, formerly of 2208 West State Street, passed away Wednesday (April 1, 2015) at the Wellsville Manor, where he had been residing. Born April 9, 1926 in Olean, he was the son of Charles R. and Beatrice V. Myers Geise. Mr. Geise was a lifelong Olean resident and graduate from Olean High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving during World War II. He worked at Ripley's Auto Service until 1970 and then went to work for Olean Sales Co. where he retired from in 1988. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church and volunteered for many years as a driver for Interfaith Caregivers. Mr. Geise enjoyed camping, gardening and woodworking. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister Mary C. Voorhees in May 1998 and one brother Charles E. Geise in March 2004. Friends will be received Monday (April 6, 2015) at St. Mary of the Angels Church from 9-10am. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10am. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church, 202 S. Union Street, Olean, NY 14760. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean
