Obituary of Leona Doran

Allegany- Leona T. Doran of 3857 S. Nine Mile Road, passed away Tuesday (March 10, 2015) at the Olean General Hospital, after a brief illness. Born June 25, 1920 in Salamanca, she was the daughter of John and Mary Tomsick Kissel. She married Francis "Shoes" Doran, who predeceased her in 1962. Mrs. Doran was a graduate of Salamanca High School. She worked as the head cook at the Olean General Hospital and later for St. Francis Hospital. She was an avid bowler and volunteered for many years with the P.T.A. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and its Altar Society. Surviving are three children Patricia (Albert) Ensell of Olean, Edward J. (Linda Wholl) Doran of Plymouth Meeting, PA, and Richard (Elizabeth Lingenfelter) Doran of Allegany; seven grandchildren Audrey Hale, Scott Ensell, Daniel Ensell, Alan Ensell, Mary Lynne Ensell, Michelle Blehar, Molly Krause; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great ganddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, was predeceased by one great-grandson Cody and two brothers John Kissel and Edward Kissel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday (March 14, 2015) at 9:30am at St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. James Vacco, OFM will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean.
