Beverly Higby "loving wife, mother and grandmother" Allegany, NY-- Beverly Higby of 3282 Maple Avenue died peacefully Friday (December 24, 2004) in Buffalo General Hospital. Born October 31, 1931 in Franklinville, NY she was the daughter of Howard and Grace Schultz. On January 5, 1952 in Rochester, NY she married Robert Higby who survives. Mrs. Higby was a graduate of Allegany High School and was a lifelong resident of Allegany. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Allegany and she enjoyed gardening and Buffalo Bills football. Surviving besides her husband are 4 children Deborah Layton of Erin, NY, Christopher Higby of Olean, Jodi Williams of Allegany and Robert (Jennifer) Higby of Allegany; 7 grandchildren Jay Layton, Kristen Crawford, Erin Williams, Heather Williams, Robert Higby, III, Bailey Higby and Kaitlyn Higby; 2 brothers George (Joyce) Moran of Owensboro, KY and Merle (Jean) Schultz of Allegany; 2 sisters Jan Goerss of East Aurora, NY and Mary Lou (Edwin) Triesky of Olean and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson Brian Williams on April 9, 1981 and a brother Carl Schultz. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Monday (December 27, 2004) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Gerald leFeber, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or to the Allegany Fire Department.
