Obituary of Robert Whitton

Robert C. Whitton Olean, NY Robert C. Whitton of 2667 Smith Hollow Rd. passed away peacefully Friday (December 26, 2014) at his home. Born August 29, 1938 in Olean he was the son of Clarence and Helen Rose Shaffer Whitton. On March 29, 1987 in Hinsdale he married Linda J. Cronk who survives. Mr. Whitton was a graduate of Olean High School and had resided in the Hinsdale area most of his life. After high school he served with the US Army and then began work with Clark Bros Co. in Olean. He became a truck driver and worked for thirty one years with different companies, retiring from Consolidated Freightways in Olean. He was an animal lover and most recently enjoyed the loving company of his two dogs Brandi and Winston. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter Julie (Jeff) Rapp of Buffalo; one son Robert C. Whitton, II of Olean; two granddaughters Allison Rapp and Caroline Rapp; two stepsons Steven (Laura) Noll of Cuba and Joseph (Jodie) Noll of Hinsdale; seven step grandchildren Isabella Noll, Tobias Nelson, Kayla Noll, Jocelyn Noll, Breanna Winicki, Brooke Winicki and Bridgette Winicki; a sister Joan Evans of Olean and several nieces and nephews. There are no scheduled services at this time. Mr. Whitton's request was to have his body donated to the medical community via Science Care in Phoenix, AZ. Memorials may be made to Science Care, 19301 E. 23rd Avenue, Aurora, CO 80011. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
