Loren E. Turner
Olean, NY Loren E. Turner of 2996 Route 16N was received into the arms of Jesus on Saturday (December 27, 2014) at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born October 17, 1933 in Allegany he was the son of Everett C. and Grace Horton Turner.
Mr. Turner resided in Allegany most of his life and entered the US Army where he served in the Korean Conflict Era and in Peacetime from 1955 to 1957. After his service time, his livelihood involved being a truck driver in some capacity for the rest of his life. Driving for the Olean Wholesale for many years, he later became an independent contractor, operating as Turner Trucking Company. After retiring from the trucking business, he kept busy part-time as a driver for Covered Wagon Tours. He most enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren and when able, loved riding his four-wheeler through the woods with his dog. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Mason Northern Star Lodge #555 and the Allegany American Legion.
Surviving are four children Daniel E. Turner of Stump Creek, PA, Donna M. (Michael) Black of Bradford, PA, Susan J. (Dennis) Reigel of Kane, PA and Frederick W. (Beth) Turner of Home, PA; ten grandchildren Danielle, Krystal, Cassandra, Thomas, Scott, Amy, Aaron, Edward, Alicia and Michael; nine great grandchildren; one sister Arlene Chapin of Allegany; one brother Leo (Eileen) Turner of Allegany and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons Dennis M. Turner and Donald L. Turner and a brother-in-law Paul Chapin.
Friends are welcome to attend a memorial service for Saturday (January 24, 2015) at 11:00am at the Creekside Chapel, Five Mile Rd., Allegany. Rev. Seth McClymonds, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Bradford, PA, will officiate.
