Darlene M. Kelly
Allegany, NY Darlene M. Kelly of 4278 S. Nine Mile Rd. passed away Monday (December 15, 2014) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born January 18, 1945 in Olean she was the daughter of Archie and Alice Abdo Baire Cole. On July 15, 1967 at St. Joseph's Church in Olean she married Thomas R. Kelly who survives.
Mrs. Kelly was a graduate of Olean High School and had first worked for Bradner's Department Store and later the Allegany Post Office. She then began employment with the former Mr. Donut and lastly with Ried's Food Barn.
She was a member of the Allegany Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. She always had a smile for anyone passing her way and enjoyed conversing with family and friends. In her younger years she enjoyed roller skating and was an avid collector of angels.
Surviving besides her husband are two brothers Richard (Margaret) Baire of Duke Center, PA and Max (Rochelle) Baire of Olean; one sister Nancy (Dan) Babcock of Yukon, OK; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews whom were all like her own children to her and two brothers-in-law Jim (Sherri) Kelly and Ken Kelly.
After a long, hard fight to stay with us, she went to be with her family in Heaven including her parents and a sister-in-law Joanne Kelly.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-6pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will immediately follow at 6pm in the funeral home. Pastor Rich Price, nephew to Mrs. Kelly, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Marie Lorenz Dialysis Center or to the American Cancer Society.
