Obituary of Albert Weil

Albert E. Weil Allegany, NY Albert E. Weil of 2415 Five Mile Rd. entered into God's loving arms on Thursday (July 10, 2014) at the home of his son in New Hartford, NY. Born October 23, 1931 in Buffalo he was the son of Albert J. and Mildred E. Bittner Weil. On February 11, 1961 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany he married Betty J. Karl who predeceased him March 21, 2014. Mr. Weil was a 1949 graduate of Angola High School and attended Erie County Technical Institute in Buffalo. He served with the New York National Guard 27th Infantry Division from 1949 to 1951 and then enlisted in the US Navy where he served from 1951 to 1955. He had been employed by the former New York Telephone Co. in Olean for 39 years prior to his retirement. During the years of raising a family he volunteered as a Cub Scout leader and later as Scout Master in Silver Creek. He also was a Special Olympics coach for 20 years and was associated for 28 years with the Cattaraugus County ReHabilitation Center where he served as a board member. Additionally he served as a board member for NYARC in Cattaraugus County. He was a model railroad enthusiast. Surviving are his loving daughter Debra L. Weil of Olean; his loving son Craig A. (Helen) Weil of New Hartford; 2 loving granddaughters Katrina and Megan Weil; 2 brothers John P. (Lynn) Weil and David D. (Mary) Weil, both of Angola; 1 sister Marilyn J. (Leland) Britting of Angola; a sister-in-law Hilma Weil of Rochester, MI and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a brother Robert E. Weil. At Mr. Weil's request, there will be no scheduled services. Private graveside services will be held at the family's convenience at St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
