Virginia M. "Ginny" Everetts
Olean, NY Virginia M. "Ginny" Everetts of 1733 Happy Hollow Rd. passed away peacefully Friday (June 20, 2014) at the Cuba Memorial Hospital Medical Care Unit after a recent battle with cancer.
Born July 20, 1927 in Corry, PA she was the daughter of Howard and Geanea May Briggs Morgan. On June 28, 1947 in Olean she married Hazen R. "Buzz" Everetts who survives.
Mrs. Everetts was a graduate of Hinsdale Central School and attended the International Academy of Beauty Culture in Buffalo. She had been employed at several places prior to her marriage including Electrical Reactant Corp in Franklinville and W.T. Grant Co. in Olean and also a beauty shop. She also did tailoring and other household tasks in her neighborhood. During her years as a homemaker and raising a family she was well known for her wedding cake business.
She was a member of the Portville Baptist Church and enjoyed reading and crocheting afghans for her family. She also did word search puzzles and also grew flowers and liked bird watching.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter Lorraine "Lori" Everetts of Olean; two sons Dwight (Ruth) Everetts and Terry L. (Vicki) Everetts, both of Olean; seven grandchildren Cary (John) Bhe, Scott (Kelly) Everetts, Tony Everetts, Allan Everetts, Staci Everetts, Joe (Penny) Everetts and Chris (Kelly) Everetts; eight great grandchildren Lexi, Shaelin, Andrew, Bradley, Emily, Rianna, Ryleigh and Robbie and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son Duane P. Everetts on August 16, 2008 and a brother Lester Morgan.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Monday (June 23, 2014) at 11:00am at the Portville Baptist Church. Pastor Robert Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Hinsdale Cemetery, Maplehurst, NY.
