Obituary of Terry Hallack

Terry W. Hallack Olean, NY Terry W. Hallack of 125 S. 14th St. passed away Tuesday (June 17, 2014) at Absolut at Allegany. Born May 20, 1933 in Olean he was the son of William and Edna Hirliman Hallack. On June 4, 1955 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean he married Betty McAdam who survives. Mr. Hallack was a 1951 graduate of Olean High School and soon after began employment as a teller with the former First National Bank. His career was interrupted for service in the US Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955 where he was stationed in Japan. He returned to work for First National Bank which later became Manufacturer's Hanover Trust Co., holding the position of head note teller and retiring as a retail mortgage lender. He enjoyed playing sports in Olean and as a young man he played in the amateur baseball league for the Knights of Columbus team. Later he was a league bowler on the First National Bank team, enjoyed golf and played at the Birch Run Country Club and was a long time season ticket holder for the Bonaventure Bonnies basketball games. He was a member of the Olean American Legion and the Olean Elk's Lodge and more recently he and his wife enjoyed taking car rides around the area. Surviving besides his wife are a sister Nancy Walsh of New Jersey and a niece and two nephews. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held Monday (June 23, 2014) at 11:00am in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
