Obituary of Norma Wiltse

Allegany- Norma E. Wiltse, formerly of 2427 Keim Hollow Road, passed away Tuesday (June 10, 2014) at the Absolut of Allegany. Born November 11, 1918 in Smethport, PA, she was the daughter of John and Mary Martin Hull. On October 18, 1941 in Olean, she married Clifford Wiltse, who predeceased her on January 20, 1997. Mrs. Wiltse was a graduate of Smethport Central School and later attended Westbrook Business Academy. She was one of the charter members of the Allegany Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and release time Bible Classes for many years. She was the past President of the Ladies Missionary Society. For several years, Mrs. Wiltse volunteered at the Absolut of Allegany and led Bible study programs there. She was a published poet, a member of the YMCA and in her free time, she enjoyed sewing. Surviving are three children Dawn (Glenn) Murray, of Harrisburg, PA, David (Theresia) Wiltse of Allegany, Robert Wiltse of Portales, NM; five grandchildren Michelle Murray, Kim Murray, Elizabeth (John) Clayson, Matthew (Sarah) Wiltse, Sun (Omar) Vega; ten great-grandchildren Julianna, Scott, Amanda, Alexa, John, Isaac, Rebecca, Molly, Gabrielle and Stephen; one sister Marion Jean Hull; three brothers Joseph Hull, James Hull and Donald Hull; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sisters Margaret Rathbun, Louise Boswell and Helen Kasky. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (June 17, 2014) at 11 am at the Allegany Baptist Church. Rev. Frank Hayman will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the Allegany Baptist Church or to the Allegany Fire Company.
