Obituary of Arthur Emons

Arthur J. Emons, Jr. Allegany, NY Arthur J. Emons, Jr., 83, of the Bradford Ecumenical Home, formerly of Allegany passed away Tuesday (September 24, 2013) at the Bradford Regional Medical Center. Born October 28, 1929 in Bradford, PA he was the son of Arthur J. and Ethel Mae Seeker Emons, Sr. On June 21, 1969 he married Jessie Burrows Reese who predeceased him June 14, 2008. Mr. Emons attended Bradford schools and later served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1954 to 1956. He was a sharpshooter and was discharged as a corporal. He had worked at the Kendall Refinery in Bradford for thirty seven years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Witco Quarter Century Club and the Olean American Legion Post #530. He enjoyed fishing and horseback riding. Surviving are two daughters Julie Stanley and Sally Garcia and two sons Arthur J. Emons, III and John A. Emons and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Saturday (September 28, 2013) from 11am until time of services at 1:00pm. Rev. Robert Goode will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
