RALPH T. ROGERS "Owned Rogers Liquor Store" OLEAN - Ralph T. Rogers, longtime Olean resident and businessman, died Saturday January 18, 2003 at St. John's Nursing Home in Rochester, NY. Born in Olean on June 21, 1911 he was a son of Dominic and Louise !DiCola Rogers. On June 17, 1945 in Olean he married Albina I. Pascucci who predeceased him February 12, 1980. Mr. Rogers owned and operated Rogers Shoe Repair in Olean. From 1945 until his retirement in 1978 he owned and operated Rogers Liquor Store on North Union Street. He was a member of St. John's Church and was actively involved in the church's Italian Festival. He was a great cook and he enjoyed playing bocce and card games, especially gin. He was an avid fisherman. He is survived by three sons, Ralph T. Rogers Jr., Thomas R. (Ann) Rogers, both of Rochester, NY and Nicholas (Terri) Rogers of Rushford, NY; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by five brothers, Arthur Rogers, Patrick Rogers, James Rogers, Floyd Rogers and Nicholas Rogers. Friends will be received on Sunday January 19, 2003 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday January 20, 2003 beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. John's Church. Msgr. William Wangler, pastor will be celebrant. Burial and committal services will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John's Church, 931 North Union Street, Olean 14760
