Mrs. Sciandra was my favorite teacher. She was the teacher who believed in me. She believed that I was someone, when I knew other teachers didn't. I know she is why I became a teacher. She truly made a difference in my life. I am sure I am one of thousands...she made each student feel special. That was also her gift. I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Sciandra was a wonderful woman. I know that God has a very special place in Heaven for her. Prayers for your family. Sandy...Salamanda '84

I offer my deepest sympathies to the Sciandra family at this difficult time. "Mrs. Sciandra" was how I knew Linda, as my art teacher in high school in Salamanca, and later as "Linda" when I attended St. Bonaventure masses after college. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Joe

I was privileged to frame some of Linda's artwork. A bright, interesting, talented, and humorous person, I so enjoyed working with her at Picture This. The last time I saw her was the summer I sadly closed my shop and returned some of her prints to her . I can see her through the 2nd floor window as we chatted about everything. in the summer of 2010. What a woman, what a loss. I know she is in a place now filled with shapes and colors more real than this world can offer.

Mrs. Sciandra touched so many lives through her art, creativity, and gentle spirit. I am so truly sorry for your loss and hope you are all surrounded by peace, love, and much of her beautiful artwork during this time. This world will truly miss her... I am looking at the "Alice in Wonderland" painting she created for me as a child, and I will always cherish this treasure hanging on the wall in my office. So many children have enjoyed it. Wish I could be there to express my condolences in person. God Bless.

To my forever friend, Linda "P"....... From the day we met as freshman roommates at Buffalo State wearing look-alike green and white dresses (yours made by your mother for you and mine made by my mother for me), I knew we were destined to be forever friends. We certainly have had a lifetime of precious experiences and memories to share and were it not for the two of us, the wonderful connected family of ours that came into existence would never have been. How many best friends' children end up marrying and blessing them with common grandchildren?!?! And.....didn't I introduce you to Russ at the beginning of our friendship, as well? So, if not for you and me, Linda "P", our immediate family would not be! I promise to keep your presence and all your talents alive in the hearts and minds of Nick and Margo and Adriana (who looks just like you!) and Nolan for as long as I live and I will forever treasure all the wild and crazy adventures we had together as true soul sisters. We were destined to be friends........and even family. I'm going to miss you SO much! Heavenly Hulas, "P".............Paulette

Tears are streaming down my cheeks as I write... Though my vision is blurred, I once again see Linda... beautiful, vivacious, spunky, determined and creative and with an aura of fun and excitement that haloed her. As freshman art majors at Buff State, this was my instant impression of Linda when we met in one of Upton Hall's drawing studios. Then and now, this is how I always think of her.... What an extrordinary person Linda was... I will be forever be grateful for how Linda touched my life... Russ, our deepest sympathy goes out to you , and your family. We hope you find comfort in the love of all who surround you with their support and prayers. at this very sad time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.... Kathleen and Tom Montaldo

My life is better because of Linda Sciandra. I hold her very dear to my heart. Both she and her husband were favorite teachers of mine in high school. We called them "Billy Joel and his uptown girl". They were so classy, and we adored them. Mrs. Sciandra not only taught me a lot about art, she taught me a lot about life and personal integrity. She was so true to herself, and to her craft. She once invited me to her beautiful home to see her studio. I was so inspired by her diligence and committment to her artist-self. She had such an aura about her. Her smile could warm my heart on the coldest of days. I have kept all the hand-written letters she has sent me. On my wedding day, the second I saw her - tears rolled down my face! She was so special to me. She gave us a beautiful print of a sunflower painting she did - and I have it hanging so it's the first thing I see when I come in my front door. I think of her often. I will always remember skiing with her - what a JOY! She was so spunky, so kind, so witty, and beautiful on the inside and out. Mrs. Sciandra, your love and light will live on in the many lives you have touched. Thank you for all you have given of yourself for your community and your students. Rest in peace sweet angel. My thoughts, prayers and love are with Mr. Sciandra, Margo and Ryan. Love.....
