Dennis A Crawford: VISITATION AND MEMORIAL SERVICE CHANGED
Dennis A. Crawford, 60, of 18 Pine Street, Allegany, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born on May 24, 1953, in Olean, New York he was a son of Joseph and Margaretta Smith Crawford. On July 21, 1973, at St. Bonaventure Church he married the former Nancy A. Karl who survives.
Mr. Crawford was a graduate of Allegany Central School Class of 1972.
He had worked for Work and Silvis Construction Company, Lane Construction, and Kessel Construction before going to work for the Cattaraugus County Highway Department retiring May 31, 2008 after 32 years of service.
Dennis was a member of St. Bonaventure Church.
He enjoyed fishing hunting, sports, and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by His Father and Stepmother Joseph and June Crawford of Allegany; wife Nancy L. Crawford of Allegany; two daughters Tammy (James) Stayer of Allegany, Jamie (James) Gold of Elmira; grandchildren Amber, Daniel, and Elizabeth Stayer, and Noah and Lyndsey Gold; nine brothers Tim Crawford, Michael (Carolyn) Crawford of Texas, Gary (Charlene) Crawford of Louisana, Joseph (Cindy) Crawford of Pennsylvania, Greg Crawford of Olean, Jim (Cynthia) Crawford of Olean, Jerry (Karen) Crawford of Allegany, Chris (Kathy) Crawford of Williamsville, Ernest (Carol) Hall of Albany and three sisters Pam Foster of Olean, Liz Bean of Olean, Deb (Pete) Stokes of Great Valley and many Nieces and Nephews
He was predeceased by his mother Margaretta, and brother in law Mike Bean.
The family will receive friends at the Casey, Halwig, & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 NYS Rte. 417W, Olean on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 3-8 P.M. only. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Church on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. Fr. James Vacco will be the celebrant.
