Obituary of Dorothy Weatherell

Dorothy D. Weatherell Olean, NY Dorothy D. Weatherell of 3148 Route 16N died Monday (December 31, 2012) at The Pines, Machias Campus after a lengthy illness. Born May 5, 1935 in Olean she was the daughter of Lewis W. and Margaret Spears Struble. On October 1, 1955 in Olean she married Donald A. Weatherell who predeceased her December 25, 2002. Mrs. Weatherell was a graduate of Olean High School and in addition to raising a family, worked for the former Servomation Co. for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church and the Guys and Gals Club of Hinsdale. She enjoyed bowling, loved sports of all kinds and was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan. She also enjoyed crafting of all sorts and was formerly active with the Valley Craft Club. Surviving are two daughters Diane Weatherell of Olean and Doreen (Michael) Jennings of Arvada, CO; two sons David Weatherell of Longmont, CO and Donald (Jennifer) Weatherell of Hattiesburg, MS; four grandchildren Jennifer Hartwig, Katherine Jennings, Owen Weatherell and Zachary Weatherell; one sister Sandra Struble of Olean; one brother Lewis (Jeanne) Struble of Wesley Chapel, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (January 5, 2013) at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Rev. Richard Young, pastor of the Hinsdale United Methodist Church, will officiate.
