Obituary of Helena Trowbridge

Helena N. "Chicken" Trowbridge Allegany, NY Helena N. "Chicken" Trowbridge of 3821 Old State Rd. died Friday (November 23, 2012) at the Olean General Hospital after a long illness. Born September 28, 1927 in Bradford, PA she was the daughter of Frank and Elsie Leilous. On July 17, 1946 in Wellsville she married Herbert "Dutch" Trowbridge, Sr. who predeceased her March 23, 1983. Mrs. Trowbridge was a 1945 graduate of Allegany Central School and for thirty eight years was the owner of the Dutch Mill Restaurant in Allegany. She was an active member and past president of the Allegany Fire Department Auxiliary. Surviving are one son Herb (Jane Shay) Trowbridge of Allegany; one daughter Elizabeth Kelleher of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren Ted Hall, III, Ken Hall, Shannon Snavely, Kelly Brennan and Christopher Trowbridge: ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by two sisters Emma Decker and Phyllis Hilliard and two brothers Donald Leilous and Frank McKinney. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-8pm. Funeral services will begin at 8pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army 701 E.
