Obituary of Thomas Dandrea

Thomas J. Dandrea Allegany, NY Thomas J. Dandrea, 87, of 3974 Route 417 Lot 151 passed away peacefully Wednesday (November 7, 2012) in his home. Born October 27, 1925 in Westwood, NJ he was the son of Ceasare and Nicolina Jovan Dandrea. He was married to Muriel Bryer who predeceased him September 9, 1999. Mr. Dandrea was a veteran of WWII having served from 1944 to 1946 with the US Army where he was a Staff Sergeant in the Antilles Department Signal Service Battalion. He later moved to Olean where he worked for twenty five years for the Olean Camera Center on North Union Street. For several years he was the official photographer for the Hinsdale Central School football program. He took great pride in his sons' school sports activities where he volunteered as a little league baseball coach and enjoyed watching them play football. He was both an avid golfer and a Buffalo Sabres fan and enjoyed relaxing to the sound of big band music. Surviving are one daughter Maureen (Richard) Anoba of Raleigh, NC; four sons Thomas (Linda) Dandrea of Olean, Richard Dandrea of Allegany, Pete (Paula) Dandrea of Olean and Jamie (Deborah) Dandrea of New Castle, DE; many grandchildren; one great grandson; one brother; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. At Mr. Dandrea's request, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. Burial services will be private.
