Rosalie G. "Rosie" Holdridge Kozlowski
Allegany, NY Rosalie G. "Rosie" Holdridge Kozlowski, 85, of Allegany, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday (October 28, 2012) at the Olean General Hospital with her family by her side.
Born November 30, 1926 in Franklinville she was the daughter of Clifford and Elizabeth Fries Drusseau.
Mrs. Kozlowski was a graduate of Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville. In 1964 she had been employed as the Java Center Town Clerk. For many years she owned and operated Duke's Grill as well as Rosie's Bar & Grill, both in Olean. Later she worked for various Bar and Grill Restaurants in the Olean area and was well known for her popular beer-battered fish fries. After retirement she worked part time as a parking lot attendant for the City of Olean.
She always enjoyed the water and spent many summers at Cuba Lake with her family. For years she was an avid bowler and sponsored a league through her restaurant. She was a member of the St. Stephen's Club, the Eagle's Club Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge, all of Olean as well as the VFW Auxiliary of Franklinville and the Hinsdale American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters Cindy Kozlowski of Olean and Marilyn (Jeff) Parmerter of Wethersfield; four sons Daniel (Kathy) Holdridge of Jamestown, John (Vickie) Holdridge of Falconer and Raymond (Lisa Brown) Kozlowski and Michael (Susan) Kozlowski, both of Java Center; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two sisters Margaret Oakes of Arizona and Dorothy O'Hara of Ohio; one brother-in-law Bud Keyes of Springville; several nieces and nephews and a special friend Suzie McRae of Allegany.
She was predeceased by a sister Marilyn Keyes in 2004.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a celebration of Rosie's life Thursday (November 1, 2012) at the St. Stephen's Club, 1117 N. Union St., Olean where an open house will be held from 1-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
