Mary M. Haas
Olean, NY Mary M. Haas of 206 S. 8th St. passed away Thursday (October 18, 2012) at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 14, 1936 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of George Edward and Welma Romaine Pike Baker. On July 28, 1956 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean she married William L. Haas who survives.
Mrs. Haas attended St. Mary's Parochial School and was a 1954 graduate of Olean High School. She worked for years as a book keeper for the former Exchange National Bank and later the First National Bank. She was then employed by the former Coral Lanes and also the former Castle Restaurant. She then worked for Tito's Restaurant for fifteen years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and the former Jayncee's. She enjoyed camping, traveling and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving besides her husband are five children Kimberly (Fritz) Simons of Jamestown, William (Kirstin) Haas of Las Vegas, NV, Derek (Peggie) Haas of Clermont, FL, Christopher (Carrie McGinty) Haas of Allegany and Heather (Christopher) Kranock of Olean; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother George (Peggy) Baker of Orlando, FL; one sister Kathlyn Ann (Peter) Franzi of Rochester and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (October 22, 2012) beginning with a prayer service at 1:00pm in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30pm in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
