Rosemary Brown
Olean, NY Rosemary Brown of 110 N. 21st St. passed away Sunday (August 19, 2012) in the Olean General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born June 15, 1925 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Milfred and Mary Walton Warren. On October 7, 1968 in Eldred, PA she married Robert L. Brown who survives.
Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Olean High School and had been employed with several businesses in Olean including Clark Bros., the Sader Agency and Jones Realty Co. Along with her husband she co-owned and operated Brown's Tropical Fish Store.
She was a member of the Allegany Baptist Church and of the American Red Cross where she volunteered in many ways, including their disaster relief efforts. She also was a member of SWAT REACT and a lifetime member of the New York State Diver's Association. Her hobbies included bowling and doing ceramics and her love of Christmas, parties with friends and her grandchildren is known by all her loved her.
Surviving besides her husband are one daughter Debra (Jerry) Cummins of Allegany; three sons Steven (Judy) Kinnaird of Palm Bay, FL, Thomas (Linda) Kinnaird, Jr. of Olean and Brian (Gail) Kinnaird of Olean; three stepdaughters Sylvia (Mike) Zobel of Greece, Barbara Brown of Wellsville and Tina Brown Cornell of Almond; twenty three grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one brother Michael (Kathy) Ritchie of Bradenton, FL and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Milfred Warren and her mother Mary Warren Ritchie; two sisters Patricia Durfee and JoAnn Williams and three brothers David Ritchie, Steven Ritchie and Wilber "Bud" Ritchie.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm and on Thursday (August 23, 2012) at the Allegany Baptist Church from 10:00am until time of services at 11:00am. Rev. Frank Hayman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Baptist Church or to the American Red Cross.
